Moving object removal

PostWed Apr 24, 2024 5:31 pm

What is the best way to remove a moving object, would it be magic mask or something else please?
I have a picture on a wall of my footage that needs to not be seen.

It's dependent on the actual shot, but it boils down to painting a clean patch, tracking it into the shot, and regraining it.

If the object is small sometimes you can paint clone over it.

There are newer and more automated methods now, some AI assisted. In fact, Resolve has an object remover tool, but none of those produce acceptable results all the time.

Mask won’t remove an object, mask just defines some area. As Igor wrote you need a patch to cover the object, make that patch follow the location and integrate (match color, grain etc).
