I can edit anything

PostFri May 10, 2024 3:44 pm

Hi, I'm having trouble opening a project in Davinci Resolve.
My entire screen appears green and with lines! I can't edit anything.
I'm not sure why, a week ago it was working fine.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but it hasn't worked.
I look forward to your help please, thank you

such a weird fault!

What video card do you have? Please post full specs of your system.

- Download latest version (studio, if nVidia) and update
- If still not working, remove driver with DDU, reboot, install again
- Is your GPU overheating? Check the GPU temperature with HWinfo - both "average" and "hot spot". Hot spot must be around +15C than Average.
- Try FURMARK or Kombustor from MSI, does your video card play those tests happily without overheating and complaining? Bear in mind some of those tests are VERY heavy on the GPU so try something in smaller windows first to make sure your GPU is not overheating to death :)

When you say "opening A project" you mean a SPECIFIC project?

Either your video driver is... suboptimal (perhaps after an update?) or your graphics card is on fire.
Blowing the dust out might help if it is a heat problem. It might be time to go shopping for a new card.

Which hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM, disk I/O)? What specific version of Resolve? What OS? What source file codec? What timeline settings (res and fps)? What framerate? How does your drive rate with Blackmagic Speed Test? How is the drive formatted and connected? Which GPU drivers are installed? What are your cache settings? Do you have any Fusion compositions in the timeline?

That seems like a monitor or GPU issue. Try switching both monitor and PC off then let cool down then try again. I have seen this issue with one of my old monitors.

I had these kind of screens and it was a bad nVidia graphics card.
Replaced GPU and problem solved.
Sorry for your trouble and expense.

Skier

The windows bar is still ok so I'd say the monitor is ok :)
