Davinci Resolve 18 Bug? (Media offline)

What macOS version are you using?

As something to try, just to see if it helps: In Resolve Preferences - User - UI Settings, uncheck "Stop renders when a frame or clip cannot be processed", save the prefs, and see if that allows the render to successfully complete.

Just installed v18.2.6 Build 2; Win10; Nvidia card.

I am seeing Media Offline for videos just imported from my Samsung S20e phone. I imported a video from a different source and did not have the problem.

If you are not using Resolve Studio, that may be the issue, if the files are 10 bit.

If you think you should be using Resolve Studio, when you launch Resolve, does it say Resolve Studio on the splash screen? If not, you've installed the free version.

I am using the Free version. Not sure I understand. Is this some new restriction with the free version as of v18? If yes, is there some format I can change my phone to use so it works?

Not a new restriction. Resolve free version on Windows doesn't support 10 bit H.265 files.

I don't know about the Samsung, but on an iPhone you change from "high efficiency" to "maximum compatibility" or so.

I have the Mac M1 Max with 32GB. Most of the time i work with DNXHD CODECS. For my basic grading, of feature lenght documentarys, Ill never ever needed RENDER CACHE at all.
My work around for the Media Offline Bug, when dragging a powergrade on to a clip is, to get rid of any existing nodes on the timeline. Make sure, there is no node inside of a clip. So the media offline bug went away.
