Can I use my existing 7.1 sound system to mix Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 in Fairlight?

Thanks.

Home Theatre Atmos deliverables are usually 7.1.4 and ideally monitoring in the delivery configuration is required.

Platforms provide guidance as to the minimum speaker configuration for the monitoring environment which in some cases can be 7.1.2 configuration, but more often 7.1.4 is required. The internal Atmos Renderer currently provides 7.1.4, 5.1.4, and 7.1 monitoring options.

According to the tutorials on the BM website, Fairlight allows for monitoring Atnos even with a Stereo set-up. Also, head phone mixing. Did I misunderstand?

Yes, 2.0 and Binaural monitoring options are also available in the Fairlight Monitoring panel.

Somehow I am unable to find the fairlight monitoring panel / the option to change the monitoring to binaural. It must be right in front of me but can you give me a hint?
I would like to pre-mix an Atmos session on headphones before going to a multichannel studio to do the fine tuning..

Thank you!

Ensure you are monitoring the Renderer and not a Sum feeding the Renderer.

If the Renderer is online (i.e. the Dolby logo is exposed in the monitoring panel) then the Binaural option will be available from the format drop-down along with 2.0, 5.1, 5.1.4, etc.)
