auto match frames on selected clips does such exist ?

PostSat Apr 06, 2024 6:41 pm

Hi,
I have the same footage captured twice, with different start points, can I select the Video2 track and tell DVR to auto match the frames to Video1 ?

It would save ages moving video2 left and right trying to locate the same subjects in both clips., let alone trying to then match exact the frames.

(and in fact I have the same footage as 3 or 4 clips)
I have to edit all together to get a fault free clip, the repeated captures due to snow/frazzle playback breakup whilst capturing from the analog tape.

Cheers

You can use Auto Align Clips Based On Waveform under the Clip menu if you have audio recorded on each.

Hi,
Thanks. So I try that, but it says no match was found.
Thats a shame , seemed to be a winner.

I still suspect an issue from the start with these clips. Having to grab them several times to get artifact free recordings is not a good sign. And then, if the sound may just be loud noises from planes, the wave-based matching will fail. Sometimes you can still spot it better by eye.
Finally, there’s no automatic matching by picture that I know of in DR, but the difference mode already suggested should help.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Hi,
when the 'snow' (fault flecks ) appears it can mess up the sound, so matching on sound track fails.
If I place a pink marker called bluewhite jacket on Video1 where a guy in a blue/white jacket first appears in frame, and do same with same name on the better clip, how can I get video2 to align to video1 using that marker ?

However I try for the auto align based on Waveform,
You can use Auto Align Clips Based On Waveform under the Clip menu if you have audio recorded on each.

and its greyed out.
I then see the audio1 had become unlinked to the video1, so I relink it, yet still selecting video1 and video2 the clip>auto align clips by waveform or by timecode, both those are greyed out.
