Project Libraries not showing

PostMon Apr 29, 2024 8:18 pm

I'm using v19b. I know it's beta, but I'm having problems when adding a new library. I click 'Add Project Library', give it a name and Location, and sometimes it crashes but when it doesn't, it "creates the Library" but can't see in the manager.
After showing the Untitled Project, I create a New Project and enter it, but when I change Library or exit DR and open it again to access the newly "created" Library, it isn't showing. If I try to add another library with the same name, it tells me it already exists.
Here an SS adding a new library named 'r' (the same name I previously used) on my documents folder and saying it already exists while not showing on the manager.

If a Library already exists, you Connect it, not Create it.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

If a library is disconnected, it wouldn't produce the error message in the screenshots above. There can be no naming conflict with a library which doesn't exist -- as indicated in the screenshots above (there is no "r" library listed). So the library apparently does exist (hence, the naming conflict), but Resolve isn't displaying it.

Am not at the workstation and can't confirm the bug, but it would appear to be one, based on the screenshots.

To the OP, I would try, just for the sake of it, a longer name.

That's right, trying to connect doesn't work.
I already tried with a longer name, but they too, don't show.
Looking for the logs, I found this line:
'The number of project libraries in the DB config file doesn't match the size of the project library list in memory' but don't know which file should I modify. Already have a support ticket, but they may take a while because the beta version launch I think?

The same as creating a new one.
I think my fastest solution was to make a backup of everything and clean install again. Haven't restore projects but we'll see.
I think if there's no other solution by now, this post can be closed.

This is from today, after updating to v18b 25. One of my libraries (Fanuc) isn't showing, and created a new one (Casa Tela), that isn't showing too.

Here is the file.
Also a screenshot of what my actual libraries look like

Please open the Windows System Information app and select File - Save to create a .NFO file with your system info, and send that.

In File Explorer, in List View mode, grab a screen shot of this folder:

D\Juan\Documents\Resolve Project Libraries

And send that as well.

Your first screen shot in this thread shows a FANUC and WEDDINGS project library. But in your current screen shot, FANUC is gone and WEDDINGS has been replaced with Weddings. Do you know why that may have happened?

Your dblist file shows that you should have these project libraries appearing in the list, and I'm not sure why several are missing. Perhaps the requested screen shot above will provide a clue:

San Jacinto
R18_Beginners
Weddings
Local
Fanuc
Casa Tela

My bad not updating post. After the OP, I just uninstalled DR. Clean installed V18.6 again and moved my projects bins to this more central Resolve Project Libraries bin. It was working okay but wanted to try Ambisonics so updated again to v18B 25 and happened again. So the last ss and dblist is the updated one, as I cleaned some projects.

Here's the file with the SS.

That screen shot matches what I would expect based on the dblist.conf file.

Drill down into all those folders, and see what, if any, the difference is between the working folders:

San Jacinto
Weddings
DaVinci Resolve Training
Local

And the non-working folders:

Fanuc Video
Casa Tela

Fanuc folder was working until upgrade. After looking into the bins, differences from this to Weddings is a HiddenView.xml file (copied into txt to be able to send).
About Casa Tela, Settings bin just has this SYSTEM CONFIG.xml file.
And Casa Tela don't have a \Projects bin under \Casa Tela\Resolve Projects\Users\guest because when creating the library, if I didn't created a project and changed library, can't access library
