"Remuxing" with audio delay instead of re-rendering?

PostFri May 03, 2024 6:32 am

Hey there,

so I have got a few rendered clips that are 1-3 frames off sync.
Rather than rendering them again (a few hours of work on my machine) I was wondering if there was a function in Resolve, or an additional tool that can delay the audio after the fact and rewrite the video & audio stream to the container without encoding again?

Thanks for any ideas :)

You can do this with ffmpeg.

With ffmpeg you can use the -itsoffset option, and if you use -copy there is no reencoding of the video and audio.

The only way I can think to do this in Resolve is to bring the exported files and and resync, then re-export.

If the long render time was due to effects, it should go much faster. If it was due to encoding, you'll be waiting. ;)
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
