will davinci resolve work with 8 MB ram ?

recently starting to shoot vlog content with Sony ZV-1F camera and now need to edit. Davinci Resolve was recommended however my PC is over 10 years old. It is a Lenovo Thinkpad with 2 memory slots 4 MB in each. Intel core i7 64 bit 2.90 ghz --- for doing basic editing on the free version, will I have any issues ? thanks for responses

Minimum system requirements for Windows

• Windows 10 Creators Update.
• 16 GB of system memory. 32 GB when using Fusion.
• Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 12.9 or later.
• Integrated GPU or discrete GPU with at least 2 GB of VRAM.
• GPU which supports OpenCL 1.2 or CUDA 12.
• NVIDIA/AMD/Intel Driver version – as required by your GPU.

You can try. Nothing to lose. Also you don't need to install the latest Resolve. I think the older versions are still up the download page. Just scroll down. Resolve 15 is still good for example.

which GPU that machine has?

My instinct says no, and even if you can start teh software, you will run into so any issues that it will leave you very frustrated.

You Mean 8GB ram, right?

To a limited degree it works with Apple silicon, but can shorten the lifetime of the SSD.
But definitely not under Windows. Before you think about upgrading RAM, tell us about your GPU.

i'm running resolve (free) on my old thinkpad p50. it's got a nvidia 4gb m2000p chip, and 32gb ram.
i think the going price is around $400au for this 8+ year old model nowadays.

i wouldn't try any complex editing, but it does well enough for basic editing, etc.,

as everyone asks, which model, which cpu, which gpu?
