Move between custom node stack layers (key command)

PostFri May 03, 2024 7:36 pm

Greetings.

Is there a key command to move between custom node stack layers in Resolve 19 beta 2, as there's one to move between individual nodes?

If not, is there an existing conversation of or feature request for this feature?

Many thanks.

There's. not shortcut to my knowledge, although it would be great to have on something like a Streamdeck.

So far I think, the best bet is to record the keyboard inputs with Keyboard Maestro and map that to a shortcut.

I have not yet tried it, but I'm told the "Clip Node / Timeline Node" button on the Advanced Panels lets you toggle through the Pre-Clip Node, Layer 1 Stack, Layer 2 Stack, Layer 3 Stack (etc.), Post-Clip Grade, and Timeline Grade. But that's an expensive solution. My memory is that there's no way to access this toggle in Keyboard Shortcuts or on the Mini/Micro panels.

It seems locking a lot of the color page functionality to either Black Magic's hardware controllers or a mouse click is common. So this feature not receiving a key command could be by design.

In a way this is understandable. We enjoy subscriptionless Resolve after all, but what a dream boat it'd be if this could be mapped to your standard issue keyboard.

As far as macros go: I'm using Bome's Midi Translator Pro. It seems the only way to map this would be a resolution specific mouse click action. 1 for each of Layer Node Stacks, 1 for timeline level. This would be a lot of buttons for something that a cycle key command would do well to solve.

Thanks for your responses, I'll make a feature request.
