As this may be of interest to a wider group, I would like to share the cause of these issues . Thankfully, I got access to the metadata that was created in 4.0.
The original metadata lists ID1, ID27 and ID48, all P3 as target displays. This indicates that the metadata has initially been generated with a P3 mastering monitor. However, the metadata lists ID21 which indicates a Rec.2020 mastering display ID.
Therefore, the mastering display setting has been altered afterwards.
this has also been recorded in the revision history of the XML metadata.
It seems that whoever changed the metadata wanted to export in Rec.2020 from a finished P3 master.
However, changing the mastering monitor setting after analysis will change the mapping.
If you would like to export in 2020 from a P3 master, this video might be useful -
