How to have cropped UHD multicam clip in a 1080p timeline?

PostTue May 07, 2024 9:37 am

Hi, i need to do a project with two cameras in UHD, but with 1080p output.
Considering i have only two cameras, i would like to use the higher source resolution to crop some clips and have more angle to play with, without losing quality.

I tryed to start with a UHD project, make the multicam and create a 1080p timeline from the multicam.
But when i want a clip to be cropped, i select "crop" from the "retime and scaling" option from the inspector, but nothing happen.
It's like the multicam is in 1080p iteself.

So, how do i set up this correctly?
Thanks to all.

I edit in a 1080 multicam project, GH6 5.7K 60P and GH5S C4K 60P. When finished flatten multicam and then go back through edit to zoom, pan and frame the high resolution clips how I want using controls in the inspector. Also do final colour at this stage too. So multicam edit is very fast just choosing camera angle.
