applying markers to video clips and not timeline how ?

Hi,
I need to mark the point on a clip video1 where 'snow' starts (lots of white fleck, not that fluffy slippy stuff !) and stops, then again on a re-capture clip video2, where it starts later than on Video1., enabling me to edit the video2 in and solve the bad copy.

I have applied markers using ctrl M but they I now see they are on timeline , so when I drag drop the better capture in, they are also then with it in an area of it that was ok and without snow.

How does one marker a video clip so that the markers appear on the video1 layer and not on the timeline divisions ?
I need to marker each video layer with markers.

I think I know how, I need to select the video clip then the marker is on the clip and not the timeline !

So now how do I get those markers onto Video1 ? as I have a load all named etc.

With a clip selected, the Marker will go there.

With no clip selected, you'll get a timeline marker.

so how do I get those I goofed on, from the timeline to the video clip ?

You can select the Markers and Copy/Paste them from timeline to clip. (They will Paste relative to the playhead, so be sure to place that correctly.)

Hi,
I place the cursor red line to left of 4 of them, as the others have since been edited out with better versions of the same capture.
I select them, and go edit copy.
I activate the video1 getting red border and go paste, (not moving the cursor)
nothing appears.
I carefully do so again, nothing appears.

I am 18.1.1 build 7
win10 64bit pro.

You may need to update Resolve. The current stable release is 18.6.6.
