Resolve 19 beta 2 extremely slow

PostWed May 08, 2024 11:12 pm

I suppose this is to be expected with a beta version.

Is anyone experiencing huge hits to performance overall?

I have a pretty beefy system, but going through some old 4k projects that used to play back in real time with some light NR nodes and the occasional re-light node...these now are unplayable at 5-7fps. Even at half and quarter settings.

The new UltraNR function is so laggy and slow that it basically breaks the program.

Even trying to right click the master folder in the Media Pool to create a new bin...this will take 20-30 seconds before the contextual menu appears. This particular issue seems to happen once when a project is first opened and then generally doesn't persist.

No, this is not expected behavior for a beta.

We've not had any reports of this from anyone else as far as I know.

If you could post your logs, that might help. Help menu... Diagnostic Logs.

Make sure you have the Studio version installed, if you have a purchased activation key or dongle.

Thanks for your response. I have tried to attach my Diagnostic log but it's bigger than the allowed attachment size here.

A google drive link is here:

Just while we're discussing the beta...

Another bug I'm seeing is that Resolve is ignoring changes made to Orientation via the Clip Attributes option.

I have a project that's predominantly made up of timelines and clips that are in Vertical orientation. I have imported a clip that was shot in vertical but not tagged as such in metadata. Usually, I can select to orient a clip like this clip 90 degrees left. In the Beta, doing this has no impact on the clip. It displays incorrectly in the timeline and viewer.

However, upon export, Resolve does read the orientation as the clip renders out correctly.

Thanks.

I have the same issue. Extremely slow, unable to play realtime.
In the previous version (fully updated studio), which was installed until yesterday, everything was super fast and smooth. Also after adding effects, color correction, moving titles etc.
No I added one effect in fusion (Defocus) and playing very slow, unwatchable.
