Dynamic Zoom n00b Question

PostFri May 10, 2024 7:43 am

Hey all,

Potentially real dumb question here, but am curious as to how to get the Dynamic Zoom tool back to normal (i.e. full frame) size. I've included a picture to show what I mean.

I'm not sure why or how this happened but any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can reset it to the centre and turn it off in the Inspector.

Thank you for the reply!

Resetting the tool I am already aware of. To clarify, I'm looking to get the tool itself back to its full size (i.e. where it takes up the entirety of the frame vs. being a fraction of the frame's size). The tool being full-sized is its typical behaviour so I'm not sure how or why this happened but I've seen it on a friend's workstation before too and wasn't able to figure it out.

I've also checked the manual and couldn't seem to find anything about it in there either.

It is most likely your Timeline Proxy Resolution.

Ahh you are right my friend! I just tested it and that is indeed exactly what it was! Thank you so much!

Having said that, I'd sure love to have the ability to keep the controls the same regardless of what proxy resolution I'm working on. :)

I agree, I think that is a bug and has been around for a while.

Aaah gotcha, well I went ahead and made a post about it under the Feature Requests board - hopefully that isn't redundant!

Thanks again! Cheers.

As long as the resolution in both the Time Format and Video Monitoring match in the Project Settings, there should be no problem.

That is of course the default behaviour when creating a new project and indeed it is a setting I have not had the need to change.

It is definitely a matter of changing the Timeline Proxy Resolution setting and nothing else. I'm able to reproduce this at any time on all projects.

As such, I've made a request and hopefully this is changed at some point since I fail to see any utility for that being the default behaviour of the tool.
