Disable 4-up display when Slipping

PostThu Nov 12, 2015 3:54 am

Is there a way to disable the 4-up trim mode when slipping a shot?

I don't need the 4-up because I am just comparing the current frame in the Record Monitor with the corresponding frame of the Reference in the Source Monitor.

When slipping for conform/sync it really slows down the process.

Select and hold shift first.

I am using the comma and period keys to slip one frame at a time. If I hold down shift, it slips by more frames.

OK, in that case I can't offer an alternative at this time.

A work around would be to put up a wipe on the Viewer window. This inhibits all 2 up and 4 up display modes.

Dwaine solution is the only way to solve this. The 4 up seems like a great idea for editing but it's more than useless when trying to match to the offline during a conform. Especially if you are visually syncing an element (I.e blinking of an eye) that is in the middle of a clip.

does it works also with a mix? I tremende trying that abs did not work.

mix is what we use 90% of the time for conforming purposes

Mix mode will also inhibit 2up/4up displays.

In case, it's still relevant: Shift + Q switches the 4-up display on/off.

Shift+Q not working for me.

I have to:
Set source monitor to Offline
Drag random clip into source
Right click on timeline viewer and choose wipe
Make wipe size zero

Be good if there was an easier way around this.

Any improvement in the works? Slipping shots accurately (using keyboard) is impossible with 4-up. Only workaround (offline wipe) is very cludgy. Thanks

If you're not using offline ref in mix/difference then mathch frame/replace.
