Mac Mini Setup

Hello

I'm trying setup DaVinci Resolve 9 Lite

I have a late 2012 Mac Mini, i7 processor, 16GB Ram, Intel HD Graphics 4000 768 MB, running OS X 10.8.2

My CUDA drivers are up to date 'CUDA Driver Version: 5.0.37
GPU Driver Version: 8.6.22 304.10.20f04

When I open Resolve 9 Lite I get this error message 'No OpenCL Acceleration Hardware Detected!' and then the program crashes.

I'm guessing it's my graphics card. Is there a work around to get Resolve up and running?

Resolve won't run on a Mac mini. You need a dedicated graphics card rather than the integrated intel card.

Resolve uses GPU cores to do the work.

At minimum you'll need a recent iMac or MacBook Pro 15/17".

Check the configuration guides for more details.

The problem is, you don't have a graphics card. The solution is a new computer.

You CAN get a graphics card for a Mini, and run Resolve on it, but I don't think that it's user upgradable, so you have to get it as part of the order. It's a decent card, but even the optional discrete card doesn't really cut it for Resolve; it runs, but not at all well. I'm eyeing an iMac with the 2 GB upgrade due to this...
