graphics card

PostThu Feb 14, 2013 4:53 pm

Hi

I am working on a 2.66 Ghz Quad-Core mack with 12 GB of 1066 RAM and I'd like to upgrade to a faster graphics card.

Please forgive me if this an unfathomably stupid question, but will the NVIDIA GTX 660 Ti 3gb work for me?

I've followed posts recommending the GTX 570, but that appears to be discontinued.

I do still photography and video - from a Canon 5dm2 - and am moving over from FCP to Premiere, and would like to use DaVinci Resolve for color grading.

Thanks!

As long as you are using OS X 10.8.2 and the latest 10.8.2 NVIDIA GPU driver, it should work. It probably won't work as good as a GTX570, but will probably be better than an HD5770. But since we haven't tested a 660, I can't tell you how well it will work for sure.

Hmmm.... I'm on 10.7...

Can you recommend a good GPU for me? I can probably hunt around and find a GTX570...

Never mind!

I've just talked my masters into upping me to 10.8...

Thanks!
