Resolve Lite with CUDA 5.0.37 ?

PostSun Feb 17, 2013 3:11 am

Running a MacPro 5,1 eight core with GTX 570 as GPU and GT120 as GUI.
Assistant editor recently upgraded the CUDA Drivers to 5.0.37 which I believe are not yet qualified by Blackmagic. I'm wondering if I should roll back to 5.0.36 or if I'm fine with 5.0.37?

And second question:
I also hear that with Resolve Lite 9 that I don't need a separate GUI anymore. But will I still see better perfromance with the GTX 570 / GT120 combo than with just the GTX570?
thanks!

5.0.37 is fine. In fact it's recommended.
It is true that you don't need a separate GUI card, but performance is usually better with it. I say usually because there are few cards that are so slow, Resolve actually performs better with a single card. GT120 might be one such card, I'm not sure. I'd suggest running the Standard Candle test both with and without it to compare results. I'm very curious to hear the results too, because I have a similar system, and I'm considering adding a GT120 just to have a boot screen.
