Fusion 19 - USD Export Stage

PostSun May 05, 2024 9:49 pm

Hi!

It is already possible to export the USD stage in Fusion 19b+? Or I don't know if it is possible to access to the USD stage with python and them save it using the pxr module.

It would be a pretty useful thing to have, I haven't found anything related to this.

Thanks!

I don’t think so and afaik USD integration isn’t exposed to scripting api.

+1
I use Resolve like a Flame, so blocking shots from storyboard to 3D is a big part. Being able to export my frame range, camera movement and basic geometry to another program like Houdini or Maya is important. Right now I use the regular 3D. It would be better if I could use USD assets in visualization and then move it back to something else for rendering.

This would be the single most powerful addition to the USD workflow I could think off for Fusion. Please add this feature. It doesn't have to support layers, a flattened stage is more than enough.
