ARA2 Support (VST3 related)

PostSun May 15, 2022 6:26 am

If Resolve is to be the market leader for (audio) post-production, ARA2 support would be a clear advantage, placing it alongside a number of other DAWs that currently support it (specifically for Auto-Align Post 2 and Melodyne).

Considering the game changing effect A-A Post has had on the industry, it seems like something that should be high on the list for a DAW aimed squarely at the post market.

Agreed! I'm unfortunately forced to walk away from Fairlight to get ARA2 support to run Auto Align Post 2. The way I see it, if Blackmagic actually wants to compete in this market, they are going to have to be much faster at implementing new technologies into both Resolve and Fairlight. Post production professionals do not have time to wait around and hope for an update, and if we need something its usually because we need it now.

BMD is behind the curve. Adobe integrated Auto Align Post support with an update in January of this year: https://www.prosoundweb.com/sound-radix ... atibility/

Agree! Resolve still doesn't even have VST sidechain support, which is a basic feature commonly available in other modern DAWs. This one issue alone is making me render all of my audio out of Resolve and move over to Reaper.

One year later... Any news on ARA2 support? Or at least some type of auto alignment built into Fairlight. Premier has ARA2 so Resolve needs to have something like this. Also wish BMD would buy or license Isotope RX Advanced for use in Fairlight and for BMD to develop further.
