Capturing SD video is not compute intensive so there should be no worries there.
Just make sure:
- the black and white points are set correctly
- you capture the video interlaced
- you use exactly the right framerate
- capture with a good CODEC that allows interlaced and a sufficient bitrate
It is best to use (or rent!) a VHS with TBC to get the best possible quality.
