Beta1 doesn't load project (hangs on load)

I have a project that I was working in and it was working fine.
Today I opened the same project (or at least I attempted to) and Resolve just stays at 100% loading without ever getting to the edit page (or the Fusion page, I can't recall how I left the program)

I restarted and used the Project Manager to export a *.dra of the project in question.
I also created a diagnostic log from inside of Resolve.
Is that sufficient or is there more info I can send?

Small update: launching the project straight from first load of Resolve resulted in the hang. First loading a different project and then loading this one from the Project Manager *did* work. Just to make things even more complicated to troubleshoot :-)

Good evening again. I think I've identified the issue. When the timeline has any fusion effects, the project refuses to open. When I delete the effect or the title, then it opens normally. This bug might have existed in version 18 as well because I also had some issues with projects back then. It's just that at some point, they would open.

That sucks ! so basically Don't use Fusion . When they tell you to use Fusion for literally any transformation keyframes or just for a motion blur lol. smh

I am building quite an elobarate comp and of course the last three times it opened fine.
I just keep my playhead of my Fusion clip when saving/quitting, because it appears to make a difference.
It could be a Konami cheatcode residu in my mind though.

I can't make it load at all. cleared cache, exported and reimported the project. always stuck at 100% when loading.

Project does not load with older version. That's a terrible situation for me as my whole project is now inaccessible...

Any advice is appreciated

Try to do the following, if you are using Windows.

(my Windows is portuguese so I am guessing the equivalent commands in english)

Right click on the desktop and choose "Display Settings"

Go to System > Screen > Graphic Elements

You will see a list of installed apps

If DaVinci Resolve is not included, search and add it to the list.

Change the Davinci settings from "Allow Windows Decide" to "Specific GPU" or "High Performance"

Try to open the project again

Thanks for the advice! I'll check that, too

I found another workaround that just fixed the project for me (for now).
- I imported the project to the cloud (using proxy setting)
- That loaded after a few minutes (probably due to my connection. the projects consists of plenty of timelines and many cuts)
- then exporting it and importing it to the local storage seems to have fixed it. it loads as expected instantly

This really makes me want to avoid using Fusion. Putting hours into something that won't open. A lot of bugs on the forum are Fusion related.

I tend to use Fusion standalone with VFX Connect. Much more reliable, but still slow on Apple silicon.
For simple motion graphics I'd recommend Apple's Motion instead.

Edit: I tried a project with two simple Fusion effects in the Fusion page made in 18.6.6, and it was loading without an issue here in 19b1. But then, I'm using a 'sandbox', so I exported it as a .drp from 18 and imported it into a Library created by 19. Could that work for you, or did you try already?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

My loading issue might no have to do anything with fusion but rather with a database deadlock situation.

I experienced the deadlock again twice. now I discovered by just loading a project from the cloud database and switching back to local loads the project again.

Not sure what is going on there maybe I should a new thread as those issues might be unrelated
