Transcription in Spanish and English

PostSat Apr 27, 2024 12:52 pm

I preach a sermon each week with translation.
I speak a sentence in English, then the interpreter speaks it in Spanish. Back and forth for 40 minutes.
The transcription function does not recognize both languages.
It is currently giving me everything in Spanish.
Is there a setting or ??? that I can adjust so that the transcription is in both languages as spoken on the timeline?

Thanks

I haven't heard of similar software that supports multiple languages simultaneously, so my guess is that the answer is no. Does it at least recognize that there are two speakers? (You may have to check an option to enable that, I can't remember.)

If it does recognize speakers, you might be able to work around it by doing English, selecting the translator and deleting all of the translator, then exporting. Then undo and switch to Spanish, and select you and delete all of you, then import the translator text back into the subtitle track.

Hello,
For transcript of different langages, I use Subtitle Edit software. (website http://www.nikse.dk unavailable at the moment :-(
You can easely transcript from different langage and rerun transcription for another one.
Translation is also included.
It export an .srt that you can import in daVinci.

Can you give the translator a separate mic and record him/her on a second track?
I'd assume you can run two transcriptions on that.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
