Format of imported .srt files does not match track settings

PostMon May 06, 2024 1:45 pm

I guess this is kind of half feature request/half UI inconsistency.

If I import subtitles their formatting does not necessarily match the subtitle track settings used in Resolve. After I have dragged the imported .srt file onto a timeline, the track settings for the imported track show up as "project". However, formatting of imported subtitles matches the imported .srt file content, not the Resolve track settings.

It would be really nice if you could (re)format imported subtitles to match your project settings.

So eg. if the imported subtitle "clip" would have max 120 characters/line and the project uses eg 60, then you could reformat the imported to be max 60 chars as per project settings.

This would be done either when
a) importing (using project setting)
b) dragging onto the timeline (using project settings)
c) as a separate function (perhaps with track settings) <- my preference
