Waveform Bug on Edit and Fairlight Page

PostTue Apr 30, 2024 11:55 am

I'm having a problem with waveforms in beta1. When inserting a file into the timeline, the waveform does not correspond to the video, it shows stretches of silence where there is no silence and in some cases it does not show the waveform in its entirety. I have attached some examples.

excerpt that shows a moment of silence in the recording, but in this part we have audio. It seems that the waveform is completely misaligned with the information in the video

misaligned waveform - In this section I still have sound coming from the video but the waveform shows it as if the end of the audio was much earlier

Can you please provide more details as to Resolve version (free/Standard or Studio), operating system, source format and codec?

Consider including a system spec in your signature as it assists in reproducing issues.

I've seen the waveform drawing go weird sometimes. Usually deleting the Cache and letting it rebuild will solve this.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Those are rectified waveforms. You can change them to a full waveform in the Timeline View Options menu.

Hi Reynaud!
I'm so sorry for the lack of information about my system and version of Resolve.

I'm using Resolve 19 Studio, my OS is Win11 Home. The source format of the file is .mp4 and H.264. The file come from my ATEM Mini PRO.

But I have a good new! With the release of beta2 the bug is completely solved :D
