Can I launch v19 beta without overwriting database?

PostWed May 01, 2024 6:03 pm

In the past when I launch a beta, I am asked to assign a database. Which results in my being unable to open older projects when attaching the beta to the most recently created database.

How can I avoid this?

Thanks in advance.

Avoid this by creating a new project library specifically for v19.

You can copy projects from an existing project library into this new v19 project library by selecting the project(s) in the current project library, then using the "Copy Project To" icon in the upper right area of the Project Manager page, and then select the new v19 project library.

Resolve will NOT ask you to Upgrade an existing v18 project library to the v19 format, as it has in the past. It will leave your current project library as is. BUT...if you load an existing project, it will be converted to the new v19 format, and then it cannot be loaded in v18, if you revert back to 18.

The current beta does NOT warn you that this upgrade will take place when you load a v18 project. But the next release will provide a warning that this will happen.
