Frame Interpolation Project Settings

PostMon May 06, 2024 8:20 am

Hello All,

I am currently encountering an issue with the project frame interpolation settings.

I have been noticing poor playback performance recently, even when bypassing all effects with 25fps clips on a 25fps timeline. I found the cause to be having my projects retime process set to optical flow.

Please correct me if i am wrong with this, but isn't this setting only supposed to apply on clips that are being retimed, or are the wrong frame rate? I even turned off retime and scaling in the individual clips, but it still seems to apply optical flow from the project settings (and make the playback very slow).

I've also noticed, it only seems to do that with some of my clips. I'm editing an interview with an FX6 (.MXF) and an A7iv (.mp4), and it seems to only be the A7iv footage.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Can you share a clip for testing?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
